My Drop Shopping Journey: Pros and Cons Explored

I’m back!

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything on my blog. I was doing some research about drop shipping and whether it would be a good way for me to earn an income while avoiding the 9-5 grind that comes with many traditional jobs. Well, there are pros and cons to any career choice, so let me tell you what I found out from this exploration.

When I heard the term drop shopping mentioned as a career choice, I wondered what it is. I found out that it is a business model in which the entrepreneur doesn’t keep any inventory, but instead relies on warehouses or wholesalers to drop ship orders directly from these suppliers. The customer can purchase products with just one click of a button and have them shipped to their door without even realizing they are shopping online!

Who gets into drop shipping? Mostly entrepreneurs who want to get into ecommerce, but don’t have the money or time to invest in inventory. They also like the fact that drop shippers are not burdened with a lot of upfront costs for inventory and logistics.

There are many advantages to this business model. You can start your own online store without any risk of upfront investment or inventory cost. It is a very low-cost entry point into ecommerce for entrepreneurs who are looking to start their own business without much of an initial financial commitment.

The convenience of drop shipping also means that you can serve more customers with less effort and time invested in the product fulfillment process. That’s because when orders come in, you can just contact the drop shipper to send your products, and then mark that order as fulfilled.

Other advantages of the drop shopping business model include the inherent opportunity for profit margins and scalability.

Downsides of drop shipping are that it can be tough to make a profit because you are not in control over prices or promotions on your products. You do need some technical knowledge about ecommerce platforms if you want to get into this business model though there is help available online with drop shipping tutorials.

There are many courses available, which is great if you want to learn drop shipping. But how do you know the course will actually teach what they say it does? What’s more there are a lot of scam ecommerce courses out there as well that could cost you money and time without giving any value at all, so it’s good to doing your due diligence.

You can find some scams by recognizing the common signs of drop shipping courses that are a scam.

You’re promised a lot in the marketing, but there’s no detail about what you will need to do or how much work is involved

A good course won’t just be teaching you theory only – they’ll show you exactly what needs to be done and give practical examples so it’s easy to follow.

A course that is only a sales pitch and doesn’t actually teach how to do anything will just be sending you into an empty abyss without any help or guidance at all.

One of the courses I checked into is Ecom Elites. I found a comprehensive review of the course on I Buy I Review. I plan to check out other reviews of online courses before making my decision.

As you can see, there are both pros and cons to drop shopping. If it sounds like the right path for my lifestyle, then this might be a good choice of career!
